The long-standing and popular Student Dance Happening at The University of Tampa will take place nightly on Oct. 26-29 at 8 p.m.
The event will begin at the David Falk Theatre on Kennedy Boulevard opposite the campus. The opening portion of the program will take place inside the theater, and the remainder will take place on the East Verandah of Plant Hall.
The Student Dance Happening has been a tradition at UT since the early 1990s and gives students who love to dance experience in choreography and performance. The event is completely student-run, from auditions to rehearsals. Student participants range from freshmen to seniors and come from a variety of majors. This year, The Spartan Scarlets and the Spanish Dance Team will be performing as well.
"This performance is something the community of Tampa will not want to miss,” said Susannah LeMarquand ‘01, director of the UT Dance Happening and a former UT dancer. “It offers something for everyone, from tap and hip hop to contemporary and jazz. It is a unique experience that showcases not only the talents and dedication of the UT students but their love for dance."
The Student Dance Happening is presented by UT College of Arts and Letters and the Department of Speech, Theatre and Dance.
