From April 19–22, The University of Tampa will stage the musical revue
Stardust, a montage of some of the greatest songs ever written. Show times are 8 p.m. on Thursday–Saturday, April 19–21, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 22. All performances will be in Falk Theatre, located at 428 W. Kennedy Blvd.
Stardust gathers together more than 30 of Mitchell Parish’s most enchanting songs, including “Deep Purple,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “Don’t Be That Way,” “Sophisticated Lady” and the title song, “Stardust.” What makes these songs so distinct is the lyrics, all by the talented Parish.
For decades, Parish has been recognized internationally as a lyricist. He has written lyrics for more than 400 songs, collaborating with many of the leading composers of popular music in America, including Duke Ellington, Hoagy Carmichael, Glenn Miller and Leroy Anderson.
UT’s production features six student performers under the direction and choreography of Michael Staczar, with music direction by Tara Swartzbaugh, set and lighting by Alex Amyot and costume design by Frank Chavez.
Admission is free for UT students, faculty and staff with valid UT identification. General admission tickets are $15, senior citizens and non-UT students may purchase tickets for $10.
