UT Will Hold Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Saturday, Jan. 20

The University of Tampa will honor the legacy of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of service to help the Tampa Bay community on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The University of Tampa will honor the legacy of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of service to help the Tampa Bay community on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The theme of the event is “MLK’s Vision and Legacy Globally: Connecting our Voices Across Cultural Context,” which is meant to speak to humanity’s interconnectedness. Attendees will share in conversations about the global impact and progress of diversity, equity and inclusion that has been made since the 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech.

The day will begin at 8 a.m. with breakfast in the Grand Salon in Plant Hall. Afterward, participants will volunteer their time and energy at two area nonprofits:
