The Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition gives University of Tampa students from any major an opportunity to display their artwork to the public. The exhibit opens Friday, March 17, and runs through Thursday, April 6, at the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery on campus. There will be an opening reception at the gallery on Friday, March 17, from 7–9 p.m.
Pieces in the exhibition are in a variety of media, including paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, digital media, animations and mixed media. Open to any UT student, the exhibition is juried and judged by Julie Heffernan, professor of fine arts at Montclair State University, who will have a solo exhibition at the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery in Spring 2018.
Outstanding individual students from the exhibition will receive cash awards from Las Damas de Arte, the Friends of the Gallery and Dick Blick Art Materials, one of the nation’s largest art suppliers and recognized as 2016’s Best Businesses Partnering with the Arts in America. The University will also honor the Friends of the Gallery and present the 2017 patron gift by Doug Sutherland, assistant professor of art.
