UT’s Production of Beehive: The 60’s Musical Runs March 23–26
From “The Name Game” and “My Boyfriend’s Back” to “Do Right Woman” and “Piece of my Heart,” celebrate some of the most memorable songs of the 1960s at The University of Tampa’s production of Beehive: The 60’s Musical. Show times are 8 p.m. on Thursday–Saturday, March 23–25, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 26. All performances will be in Falk Theatre, located at 428 W. Kennedy Blvd.
Beehive, written by Larry Gallagher, nostalgically recalls the days of miniskirts, transistor radios and flower power. Told from the perspective of six young women who came of age in this enigmatic decade, these young ladies look back on a host of issues ranging from their first Beehive Dance to the challenges we faced as a nation — all accomplished by a vast array of the most celebrated songs of the era.
UT’s production features six student performers under the direction of Karla Hartley. Music direction is by Tara Swartzbaugh, choreography is by Paul Finocchiaro, set and lighting are by Alex Amyot and costume design is by Frank Chavez.
Admission is free for UT students, faculty and staff with valid UT identification. General admission tickets are $15. Senior citizens and non-UT students may purchase tickets for $10.
