On Tuesday, Feb. 5, The University of Tampa will welcome Barbara Anderson and Janet Hall, founding partners of Destination Better Inc., as part of the Sustainability Speaker Series. The talk, titled “Secrets from the Corporate Sustainability Trenches: Embedding the Triple Bottom Line to Attract Top-notch Talent and Drive Profitability,” begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Crescent Club located on the ninth floor of the Vaughn Center. It is free and open to the public.

On Monday, Feb. 4, The University of Tampa will welcome lyric soprano Misook Yun and pianist Cicilia Yudha for a guest artist performance. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values and is free and open to the public.

 The program includes songs and arias by Franz Schubert, Henry Purcell, Richard Strauss, Joaquin Rodrigo, Fernando Obradors and Giacomo Puccini.

With the start of the spring semester, The University of Tampa’s First Friday @ Noon recital series will resume on Friday, Feb. 1, in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. February’s recital will feature organist Adam Ward, director of music at Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC.

Help raise funds for educational programs and exhibitions at The University of Tampa’s Scarfone/Hartley Gallery by attending the second annual Art on the Boulevard cocktail party and fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 8, from 7–9 p.m.

This year’s event includes a chance drawing ($5 per chance) to win unique special-edition prints by renowned local and international contemporary artists, such as Sedrick Huckaby, Mickett/Stackhouse, Pedro Pablo Oliva, Larry Poons and Maxwell Taylor.

On Monday, Feb. 4, The University of Tampa will host Gene Lunger, executive vice president of retail operations (Ashley Homestores) for the global manufacturer Ashley Furniture Industries, as part of the Sykes College of Business’ TECO Energy Center for Leadership Speaker Series. Lunger’s presentation titled, “The Power of a Growth Mindset,” will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Crescent Club on the ninth floor of the Vaughn Center.

Ashley is the world’s largest manufacturer of furniture, and the No.1 home furnishings retailer in North America. Lunger’s responsibilities encompass licensed store operations, business development, and licensee marketing and retail education.
