The University of Tampa and (ISC)² ®, the largest not-for-profit membership body of certified cyber, information, software and infrastructure security professionals, today announced an agreement naming UT as a new member of the (ISC)² Global Academic Program (GAP).

Through the agreement, (ISC)² will provide UT students with the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and industry certification they need to enter the high-demand, high-paying cybersecurity workforce.

Ireland's economy, once dubbed the Irish Tiger for its robust growth, may have gone into hibernation for a while, a victim of the global recession from which some European countries like Greece are still struggling to overcome.

But the tiger is awakening again, and there are lessons for Tampa, according to Mayor Bob Buckhorn. And UT students have a front row seat to it all, thanks to an innovative grant.

On Nov. 19–22, The University of Tampa will stage the uproarious musical comedy The Rocky Horror Show. Show times are 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19; 8 p.m. and midnight on Friday, Nov. 20; 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21; and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22. All performances will be in Falk Theatre, located at 428 W. Kennedy Blvd.

The Rocky Horror Show is a wildly humorous musical tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the late 1940s to the early 1970s. The musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist unveiling his new creation, a muscle man named Rocky.

The University of Tampa announced its second-ever comprehensive capital campaign, "Creating Tomorrow – The Campaign for The University of Tampa," to 280 guests at a donor appreciation dinner tonight in the Vaughn Center on campus.

The $150 million capital campaign seeks to grow the University’s endowment, build new facilities and support academic programs, faculty and student scholarships.

University President Ronald Vaughn described the new campaign as “a bold step to raise the quality and breadth of education at UT.”

Witness the interplay of visual art, music and dance during An Evening of Experimental Dance on Friday, Nov. 13, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery at The University of Tampa. The event is free and open to the public.

The presentation will feature dance, music, poetry and performance pieces choreographed by UT faculty and students in relation to the current exhibition, which features the latest works by the University’s art faculty members.
