Through March 28, The University of Tampa’s Scarfone/Hartley Gallery is presenting an exhibition of paintings by nationally acclaimed artist Alex Kanevsky.Born in Russia in 1963, Kanevsky began painting in his spare time while studying theoretical mathematics at the University of Vilnius in Lithuania (then part of the USSR). After his arrival in the U.S. in 1983, he soon turned to painting full time, enrolling in the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and winning a Pew Fellowship.

For the second year in a row, a University of Tampa team of master’s degree students won the Tampa Bay ACG (Association for Corporate Growth) Cup competition at the University Club in downtown Tampa last week.The team, which consisted of Kate Demick, Miriaku Obioha, Matt Vail and Adelaide Yego, finished ahead of teams from Rollins College, University of South Florida and Saint Leo University.

Élisabeth Vallet and Charles-Philippe David of the University of Québec at Montréal, will speak on “Do Good Fences Make Smart Borders?” at The University of Tampa on Tuesday, March 4.
