The 2013-2014 Writers at the University series at The University of Tampa continues Tuesday, Jan. 28, with poet Joseph Millar. Millar will give a reading from his latest collection of poetry, Blue Rust, in the Vaughn Center Crescent Club at 7 p.m. The reading is free and open to the public.

The Spring 2014 Honors Program symposia series will kick off Tuesday, Jan. 28, with a presentation by the honors students of Denis Rey, assistant professor of government and world affairs, and James Lopez, chair of the Department of Language and Linguistics and associate professor of Spanish, on “Cuba Revisited: Politics, Culture and a Future Uncertain.” The talk begins at 4 p.m. in the Board Room on the ninth floor of the Vaughn Center.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?’” Students, faculty and staff from The University of Tampa will answer this question and honor the memory of King on Friday, Jan. 24, with a day of service to the Tampa community.

The University of Tampa community as well as the public will have a unique opportunity to see nationally acclaimed artist Sedrick Huckaby working on campus as he creates monoprints for UT’s STUDIO-f visiting artist program Feb. 10–21.

The heads of Bayshore Solutions, Toffee to Go Inc. and the Tampa Bay Rays are slated to speak at the next Business Network Symposium on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at The University of Tampa. The event begins with a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m. with the program running from 7:45–9 a.m. on the 9th floor of the Vaughn Center.
