Simon Bergman, world services director for the advertising agency M&C Saatchi, will speak at The University of Tampa on Thursday, Oct. 22, about his experience in information operations (Info Ops) and psychological operation (PSYOP) communication.

The presentation, which will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in room 238 of the Innovation and Collaboration Building on campus, is free and open to the public.

The University of Tampa’s 2015-2016 PNC Bank Concert Artist Series at the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values continues its theme of collaborative music making with the Svyati Duo, who will perform Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m.

The Svyati Duo is comprised of cellist Rebecca Hepplewhite and organist Julian Collings. This duo of young British musicians has earned high praise from the press for both their commercial CD releases and concert performances throughout Europe, the U.S. and Asia.

The PNC Bank Concert Artist Series at the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values has become one of UT’s most anticipated and well-attended events on campus. As a special bonus to the series this year, organist Haig Mardirosian will play a series of three short (30 minute) recitals at noon on three consecutive Fridays this fall.

The first Friday at Noon concert, set for Friday, Oct. 23, will feature Concerto in C by Franz Josef Haydn, and Sonata in F minor by Felix Mendelssohn.

There have been times when Jennifer Finney ’16 sat in hercar after leaving the clinic where children struggle with debilitating, chronicdisorders and found herself in tears. 

“It gets to me,” said Finney, of Chicago, IL. “It almost hasto in order to urge change. You have to personally connect.”

Finney, Austin MacFarland ’16 and Associate Professor RebeccaOlsen are representing UT in a national effort of 10 leading children’s hospitalsin a $23.5 million, three-year grant focused on efficiently coordinating carefor children with medical complexities.

Eusebio Leal, official historian of the city of La Habana, Cuba, and director of the restoration of Old Havana, will speak at The University of Tampa on Monday, Oct. 12, at 2:30 p.m. on the ninth floor of the Vaughn Center on the UT campus.

Leal, who is president of the Commission of Monuments in the City of Havana and a specialist in archeological sciences, is also an ambassador of good will for the United Nations. His presentation is titled “The Restoration of Old Havana.”
